The use of vegetation indices such as NDVI, SAVI or EVI from multispectral photography has benefited our clients in the generation of information for improving the management of the production units. The vegetation indices are able to generate information of phenology, as well as map areas with low photosynthetic activity: This has made possible to improve the supervision of the fields. In the same way, vegetation indices have proven to be very important inputs for yield estimates as they complement biomass samplings during the initial stages of the crop. Among the main uses that have been given to vegetation indices by our customers are:
- Crop phenology monitoring.
- Identification of areas with low photosynthetic activity.
- Identification of areas with high stress.
